The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is an established, effective and non-biased means of clinical examination used in most medical schools across the world for the past three decades. The examination consists of about 12-18 stations each testing a different perspective of clinical medicine. The construct of the OSCE minimises inter-examiner variance as a structured format is used where expected responses appear for each of the clinical station. All candidates will go through all stations in the examination lending to objectivity and fairness. CLINICAL EXCELLENCE IN OSCE IN OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY is written by experienced clinical educators and provides sufficient samples of OSCE stations and marking schemes. By using this guidebook the authors feel that candidates would be better prepared and would perform confidently at the MBBS examination. While a typical case scenario is presented for each of the stations and objectives clearly written some cases are extended to include more examinable items than what can be performed within 5-20 minutes. Procedures in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Data Interpretation stations which are usually categorised under Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE) have also been included in this book. This is a 'must have' book for candidates preparing for the MBBS Clinical Examination.
